mission:
Dirt Divas, our girls mountain bike program, was founded in 2001 by Vermont educators Jessica Graham and Nadine W. Budbill. Since then, the program has served approximately 200 adolescent girls, ages 11-16, from Lamoille County, Vermont and the surrounding areas. Girls Move Mountains was founded in 2008 in order to support the expansion of Dirt Divas and other adventure-based empowerment programs for girls.

Girls Move Mountains is dedicated to supporting girls’ positive development. We use outdoor adventure, group experience, and personal reflection to help adolescent girls successfully navigate the challenges associated with this developmental period.
Grounded in research on girls’ development, Girls Move Mountains’ programs support girls’ capacity for self-confidence, physical and emotional resiliency, healthy relationships, positive body image, and regular physical activity. Program activities emphasize building physical, social, and emotional skills that will serve girls in their everyday lives.
